Our family of 3 stayed here for 2 weeks. The staff was so great! All of the staff was phenomenal but Jessica, Yolanda and Karon were extremely helpful and so sweet. Every interaction made our family feel safe and cared for. Our son is autistic and they went above and beyond to relate to him and include him in discussions and allowed him to be who he is without judgement. We are sad to be leaving such a comforting space. The cleaning crew was on point and my son absolutely went nuts for the bacon and cereal for breakfast. The pool area was perfect for getting that extra energy out and having dinner outside of the room.
Everything was neat and clean, nice decor, we were happy, I only have one constructive suggestion. I am handicapped in a wheelchair, the grab bar on the wall is there not only to pull yourself up but to support your body weight. If placed at the correct level as you pull up your weight shifts to the bar, and when upright your arm is straight, your grab bar is much higher on the wall, I’m guess 6” - 8”, so when you pull up you are lifting your body weight without the support of the grab bar, your arm is bent so you are basically holding on for balance. As I must dress myself with my free hand, it’s very precarious as I have no stability from the grab bar, and I am now at great risk for falling.
Hotel was nice and clean rooms are nice and clean until the last evening apparently used a funky mop head smelling really bad. We also had no bath towels I went downstairs and got a load. Staff was very helpful and very nice Would have been nice to maybe get a discount or some extra points added on to our portfolio for the challenges.
We really enjoyed our stay. The rooms were clean and roomy. It was wonderful having the morning breakfast available to us. Most of all the staff were so friendly and helpful. I would highly recommend staying at the Oakdale Holiday Inn.
The front desk staff Yolanda is very friendly and welcoming. She helped and answered my questions clearly. Any time I needed something, she helped quickly and kindly. Her great attitude made my stay even better. Thank you, Yolanda!
It’s almost perfect but it’s missing two things: 1) rooms need carpet instead of hard floor 2) breakfast should start at 6am instead of 6:30am cause other Holiday Inns offer breakfast at 6am
Only improvement is a comment on Breakfast. The pancakes taste like cardboard. Novel concept but lacks flavor and good texture. Muffins and bagels and cinnamon rolls are a better choice
